VC fellowship graduation
Congratulations to our Summer 2022 Cohort!
3 Oct 2022
Congratulations to all 17 Fusion Fellows who graduated from our Summer 2022 Fusion Fund VC Fellowship Program! In our first year, we received more than 400 applicants but could only accept 17 fellows (we originally targeted 15 and decided to accept 17). We could not be prouder of all 17 fellows selected – a highly diverse group of individuals ranging from industry leaders, medical experts, entrepreneurs to graduate students! They worked together in teams and directly with us in an “apprenticeship” model. Great way to spend the summer.
Fusion Fund’s VC Fellowship is dedicated to working professionals working in technical roles and post-graduates/PhDs in technical domains who are motivated and passionate about exploring a potential career in venture capital and getting additional exposure to the technical start-up ecosystem. The program was initiated by our managing partner, Lu Zhang. Moving forward, our new partner David Gerster will lead the program.
Many have asked us: “Why is Fusion Fund doing this?” The answer is simple. We care about building the next generation of VC investors – not just for our fund, but for the industry. So, we let our fellows learn and see what venture capital was really like – our work, our impact, and our ethics. They went through an intensive course that was designed from the ground up. The course covered an introduction to VC, sourcing deals and conducting due diligence. At the end, the fellows worked in tight-knit teams to submit in-depth market analysis, diligence reports and much more.
With all the hard work (and fun times), please join us to congratulate our Summer 2022 Fusion Fellows!
