A proven leader in the tech industry, Raj boasts a diverse background at renowned companies like Intel, VMware, and Google. He has consistently shown an ability to identify upcoming trends, spearhead innovation, and translate those ideas into impactful products. He spearheaded groundbreaking developments in areas like the programmable network processors at Intel and hybrid clouds at VMware (with a product called VMware Cloud Foundation). During his stint at Google Cloud, Raj led the virtual network infrastructure and products team.
Currently, as CTO at Juniper Networks, Raj is leading the company's growth strategy through AI-powered initiatives. He is a champion for leveraging Generative AI and AIOps to:
Boost corporate productivity: harnessing the power of Generative AI to streamline internal processes and enhance efficiency of functions such as marketing, HR, Legal, IT, etc
Transform network operations: using AIOps to automate network diagnoses and self-healing capabilities, leading to a more intelligent and resilient infrastructure.
Optimize network fabrics for ML workloads: driving the design of optimized network fabrics specifically tailored for GPU clusters to bridge the gap between networking and high-performance computing, a crucial aspect of supporting AI workloads.
Raj is an IEEE Fellow, holds a PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University, has been granted more than 60 patents, and has co-authored five Internet standards. He has also published more than 40 papers in academic journals and conferences and has co-authored the book, Inside the Internet's Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) published by John Wiley.
